Housing Counseling
ACCC’s housing department provides reverse mortgage, pre-purchase, post purchase, and foreclosure counseling. We are committed to providing communities with housing counseling assistance as well as providing housing literacy resources and education.
Our goal is to facilitate personal economic empowerment and community stability through homeownership and/or home management. Our job is to provide consumers access to information, resources, and tools that help them achieve their housing goals. We provide pre-purchase and post-purchase workshops with an option for one-to-one counseling. We also provide national foreclosure prevention and intervention advice. For Massachusetts residents we offer face-to-face foreclosure prevention and intervention counseling.
We believe everyone should have access to decent, affordable housing in a safe living environment. Our agency services all segments of the population regardless of race, color, religion, national origin, sex, familial status and disability. Our counselors are familiar with HUD’s housing and community programs and understand that everyone will require a different course of action. Our counselors will help you prepare an assessment of your financial situation to determine the root cause of the problem. Once the problem is identified they will work with you to establish the best possible solution.
ACCC’s housing counselors regularly participate in continuing education programs to increase their knowledge in specialized housing topics. They are required to attend necessary training education programs in order to uphold a current, high level of knowledge in the housing counseling area.
