If you're planning to file for bankruptcy, the law requires that you complete a U.S. Trustee approved Credit Counseling Briefing before you file your bankruptcy petition. Your bankruptcy attorney will file the Credit Counseling certificate that must be filed with your petition upon completion of the course.

Pre-Bankruptcy Instructions

1. Confirm the Judicial district that you’re filing your bankruptcy in with your attorney.
2. Have your attorney contact information: Name, Address, Telephone and fax numbers and email.
3. Information required for counseling session:
• Income documentation ( monthly pay stub)
• Monthly living expenses
• Estimated assets
• All secured and unsecured debts ( can use either individual bills or your credit report)

• Complete registration for course and submit payment when done hit submit.
• Proceed through program
• Program will instruct you to call us back to complete your session
• When you call a counselor will review your financial summary and options
• Upon completion we will issue your certificate.

• We will go through the credit counseling session over the phone (allow for 60-90 minutes)
• Upon completion we will issue your certificate

• You or your attorney will be able to access your certificate of counseling and counseling summary online.
• Log back into your account using your username and password and click on “Doc Center”
• Will will also email you or your attorney your certificate if you would like.
